Veterans In Action have steadily grown since it’s conception in 2008 and after receiving charity status in January 2009 and throughout that time to the present date the charity has developed many projects that make up the ALIVE Programme.
It would be very easy for the charity to remain comfortable in the place they are and the niche they have carved out for themselves within the charity sector and of course there is nothing wrong with that, however, Veterans In Action want to continue to grow to become the leader in their field of helping veterans grow by immersing them in long-term projects that enable them to grow far beyond their own expectations.
Veterans In Action will continue to develop their ALIVE Centre and the projects within situated on the Hants/Wilts border to provide a ‘safe environment’ for those taking part in ALIVE.
Sapper Shop:
RE Corps Enterprises (RECE) was formed as a Limited Company, owned by the Corps of Royal Engineers, in 1994 although it had been in existence in varying forms for many, many years before that. It is primarily run for the benefit of, and as a service to, current serving Soldiers and Officers, retired members of the Corps and their families.
Because RE Corps Enterprises Ltd is owned by the Corps, ALL profits generated by sales are gift aided to the Royal Engineers Central Charitable Trust at the end of each financial year.
RECE currently has two members of staff.
The Manager Jo Barnes and her Assistant Manager who run both the online shop and the barrack shop.
The RECE business is located in Brompton Barracks, Chatham, which to most people is the historical home of the Corps.
The Office, mail order centre and The Sapper Shop are located in Wood Street Block, the office hours are 08.30 – 16.30 Monday – Friday; the opening hours for the shop are 10.00 – 15.00 Monday to Friday.
The Corps shop has a wide range of attractive gifts and goods for both military and civilian alike; we try to cater for all levels of expenditure and need. If we do not stock a particular item we will always try to obtain it for you, within reason.
